drawing

I LOVE DRAWING! it all begins with an idea or a visual prompt. i always like to do preparatory drawings especially with portraiture. when you draw someone, you are refining the lines, finding shadows, making marks and getting to know your subject. i find drawing helps in working out compositions. it is imperatively important to have a little notebook, to carry around with you. just in case you see something, an interest, or a thought, these days though, we photograph many of our memories on our phones, words even, who knew ???? still, the be-all and end-all is that drawing is essential to all good art. well, in my opinion it is !
