the julian ashton art school
some of my wonderful teachers at julian ashton’s
sometime in 1995 i decided that i had to study art, learn the piano, be in a folk band and improve my textile skills. i needed to be true to my innovative imaginary self. so little did i know that i would become a part of the furniture at julian ashton art school for the next few years. i would attend about three days a week, as much as I could muster whilst taking a part time position as a nanny to a lovely family who are still very special to me to this day. fridays i had class from 9am- 9pm, those were the best times, especially when it ended with friends at the australian hotel. i loved being there, at art school, being an art student, learning my craft and just being free to be me. at this time in my life i had the occasion to reside in india which i think still influences my artwork.
