dora’s place
after art school i was able to live in an art deco apartment studio in the upper north shore, close to the city with a beautiful view of the sea. i worked at a few different vocations from waitressing to retail, at this time i worked steadily at establishing my arts practice whilst having a colourful social life, things were changing in my world, and only for the better. many hours spent on my own, drinking black coffee, listening to my music, experimenting with paint and visiting galleries. i was chosen as a finalist for the blake prize, which as a young painter i was very chuffed about.
