we moved to america just after we married to the city of pittsburgh, where i spent a lot of my hours at the andy warhol museum, i went at least every second week, they showed free warhol films on wednesdays. we stayed there for nine months. after that we sojourned to the east coast where we landed in the new england town of west hartford. we did heaps of travelling in this time, many states of america, u.k and europe. a tremendously fabulous few years. my art practice was minimal, many galleries visited. i joined the west hartford art league and i completed a few paintings, but felt a bit displaced, living in a new environment and circumstances. i found solace in learning french, learning to quilt and cross-stitch. i also had the opportunity to learn visual merchandising in a lovely jewelery and gift store, lux, bond and green. a six month transfer turned into three and a half years. one does not know what to expect in ones life, i never would have dreamed i would ever live in another country in my life. i do hope i get another opportunity to live abroad again one day.
